Earning Brownie points before you arrive on your Liveaboard!
Don’t want to end up in one of the cabins next to the engine? Or in the one with the dodgy air con unit ? Or the one with the tap that drip... drip... drips all night. There is one thing surefire way to get in your guides good books before the trip has even started.
It is this.
Get in touch - either direct if you can or the liveaboard company or thru the travel agent and offer to bring something out. There is always something those of us stuck in Egypt miss dreadfully or a piece of equipment thats desperately needed. For some its Marmite (dreadful stuff but some people are fanatical about it), for others its bacon (please). Whatever it is, it might be worth an extra 10 bar in your tank !
A personal plea.
Here are a few things you don’t need to ask about bringing to any boat you may find me on
1)Bacon. A rare treat in the Egypt and Sudan . I get in the galley and cook it myself.
2) English language Newspapers - Don’t leave them on the plane, bring them with you.
3) New DVDs - we have a huge plasma screen and love to watch the occasional film. We won’t keep them. Promise.
